Bidline
Australian public M&A, priced every trading day
About

Independent tracking of Australian public M&A

Bidline follows every announced takeover of an ASX-listed company from first bid to final payment. It brings the offer terms, the market price, the independent expert's view and the timetable into one place, and updates after every trading day.

What Bidline does

Tracks every live deal

Schemes of arrangement and takeover bids for ASX-listed targets, from announcement through the vote, court approval and payment.

Prices the risk

The gap between each target's share price and the offer, annualised to the expected payment date, and the completion odds the market is implying.

Reads the documents

Independent expert valuations, break fees, conditions and timetables, taken from scheme booklets and ASX announcements and linked against every deal.

How it works

The same four steps run after every ASX trading day.

  1. Source

New announcements, scheme booklets and expert reports are collected for every live deal, with primary documents preferred over press coverage.

  2. Extract

AI tools pull the terms, valuation ranges, conditions and key dates from documents that often run to hundreds of pages.

  3. Verify

Every figure is checked against its source document before it is published, and each deal links to the document behind it.

  4. Publish

Prices and offer values are refreshed, spreads and implied odds recalculated, and the calendar updated.

Who it is for

Students and graduates

Preparing for investment banking and advisory interviews, where knowing live Australian deals and how they are valued matters.

Investors

Following event-driven and merger arbitrage situations on the ASX, with spreads and timetables in one view.

Deal professionals

Keeping a running view of the Australian public M&A pipeline, expert opinions and deal protections.

Principles

Primary sources first

Scheme booklets and ASX announcements come before commentary. Where a figure is a Bidline estimate, it says so.

Information, not advice

Bidline describes deals and how the market is pricing them. It never recommends buying, selling or voting.

Corrections welcome

If a figure looks wrong, a message with the source gets it checked and fixed, and the change is noted in the update log.
